Dr. Long believes that ideal patient care goes beyond technical excellence. Optimal patient care requires an environment that is compassionate and patient-centered with the recognition that each patient is special and unique. A diagnosis of cancer affects the patient, their family, friends, and the community. I routinely go the extra mile to provide the same care for my patients that I would want for myself and my loved ones. Cancer is a frightening word. When patients hear the word cancer they may fear the worst. But I take the time to let them know that there is a large team of dedicated health professionals that will do everything that we can for them. Treating patients in this environment of personalized outstanding care, delivered with compassion and care, is allowing us to cure more patients than was ever possible before. I am fortunate to be working with organizations that share my values and commitment to the patient. MBPCC@TGMC believes as I do: The patient comes first.
